In almost every single hit TV show we can think of, at least one of the characters has a defining beauty aspect. There’s Steve Harrington’s gravity-defying hair in Stranger Things, Alex’s winged liner in Orange Is the New Black, and Daenerys’s platinum blonde braids in Game of Thrones. For the CW’s Riverdale, one of the most memorable characters is Cheryl Blossom with her striking red hair and lipstick to match.
In an interview with Teen Vogue, Madelaine Petsch opened up about her character’s look, including the exact brand and shade of lipstick she wears. That’s good news for us because now we can copy Cheryl’s bold lip on our own. After all, it’s the ultimate power color.

Lime Crime
Red Velvet Matte Red Lipstick
$20.00
The Cheryl Blossom–approved lipstick is this one from Lime Crime. It’s described as a “true red,” and applies with a completely opaque wash of vivid pigment. “I’m obsessed with Lime Crime because it doesn’t rub off,” Petsch told Teen Vogue. She then went on to explain how she might apply Nivea Chapstick ($3) on top, but only “when we need something glossier to transfer onto something—or someone. We’re on the CW. Of course there’s going to be some of that!”
Surprisingly, she doesn’t let the show’s makeup artists apply her lipstick. In fact, she never lets makeup artists apply lip products since she’s admittedly picky about her lip looks. “I’m super weird about my lips,” she said. “I actually don’t let makeup artists do my lipstick. I know my own lip line. I feel even they go too much over my lip line or too much under my lip line and I don’t want my lips to look strange on camera. I’m very particular about my lips.”
